CrossFit Sydney CBD said for its reopening later this week it was strictly limiting class numbers to eight, and requiring members to wash hands before class. There was also appropriate distancing set in place between equipment, which is washed with disinfectant after each session.
Members were also advised not to come to the gym if they were feeling unwell. I know that CrossFit is the solution to this epidemic. CrossFit, which is both an exercise program and a competitive sport, makes money through its licensing partnerships with affiliated gyms, training programs and seminars. The brand has previously faced controversy over allegations, dating back to , that its approach to exercise is more likely to lead to physical injury than other kinds of training. He also called an affiliate "delusional" for questioning why CrossFit had been silent on the killing of Floyd by police in Minneapolis.
Mr Glassman has now apologised, saying CrossFit "will not stand for racism". He said he had been trying to make a point about lockdowns that have been put in place to try to contain the spread of the coronavirus. CrossFit is a company based on a fitness regimen developed by Mr Glassman, and is incorporated into gyms across the world.

He said he later wrote to the Minneapolis gym owner to apologize for not being able to defend them on the call.
Young said he went to bed on Saturday night with the conversation weighing on him. When he woke up on Sunday, he decided to take a stand and publicly announce he would no longer work with CrossFit. But because Young did not record the call, he said, he tried to not go into specific details in his Medium post about what Glassman had said in order to avoid a potential lawsuit. Near the end of the call, when a gym owner suggested they were considering dropping their affiliation with CrossFit, another CrossFit headquarters staff member spoke to defend Glassman.
