Like any other normal Shiny Pokemon. The Masuda Method is still there to help you. Your best bet for a shiny starter, is to breed for it later using Masuda method imo. It took me almost 35, and 5 years?? Once you know how to breed you basically just need to breed as many of the type of Pokemon you want as a shiny.
For starters this process is the same, so just stick to it and eventually you may get a shiny starter. I say may because the odds of a shiny through this method are still very low, less than one in a hundred. Likewise, you could get lucky and find one in under This means that players can enter the starting Pokemon cutscene, see if the Pokemon they want is shiny, and then reboot if not and try again.
Is it possible to get a shiny starter? Log In to add custom notes to this or any other game. I would like to mention that if you are hunting a shiny starter you do actually have a chance to instead find a shiny Poochyena or Zigzagoon. These are dubbed as the shiny uncatchables and your only option is to continue resetting. On the bright side, if the Zigzagoon in Emerald appears as shiny it means you got an early shiny frame. If you time the next few resets correctly the frame will land on your starter instead of the Zigzagoon.
You would just have to hatch one egg after the other until one hatches as a shiny. Abilities are now a thing in the games and they can actually help you hatch eggs! Numel can be found on Route and Fiery Path. The Rayquaza in Emerald is actually huntable without having to do a soft reset. You can do runaways for it! It does disappear from the room, but leaving the room and coming right back in makes it appear again. This is a video of someone who got shiny Rayquaza this way.
These two are purposely programmed to be shiny and are owned by two trainers that you can only challenge with eReader cards. Has anyone actually achieved this? That is some real dedication. Resetting a game for this reason would drive me up the wall. My work. Many people have done this. It really takes nothing to reset the game to try and find an event shiny Pokemon. She finally got it after resetting the game over 5, times.
New Horizons. I remember I tried resetting for a shiny Rayquaza back on Sapphire when my internal battery was still working , and I must've tried resetting about times before giving up. As much as I'd love to SR for a shiny Pokemon of any kind, I just don't have the patience for it, especially in older games like this when there's nothing to increase the rate of finding one, like the Shiny Charm in newer games.
