I can hear my train comin' It's a lonesome and distant cry I can hear my train comin' Now I'm runnin' for my life What makes a man walk away from his mind? I think I know I think I might know I can feel the wind blowin' It's sending shivers down my spine I can feel the wind blowin' It shakes the trees and the power lines What makes a man spend his whole life in disguise? I think I know I think I might know What makes a man?

I think I might know what makes a man? No oh oh I can see the sun settin' It's casting shadows on the sea I can see the sun, it's settings It's getting colder, starting to freeze What makes a man want to break a heart with ease? No oh oh Well I can hear my train comin' Looks like time is not on my side Well I can hear my train comin' I'm still runnin' for my life What makes a man pray, when he's about to die?

I instantly loved it when I first heard it live, and the album version is maybe even better. Seems to be about regretting things that you've done, maybe wishing things had've gone differently. The train station is obviously near the ocean.

Lacking a brain, he decides to dress up in disguise, as a man with a brain, although he walked away from it awhile back. Meanwhile the storm is picking up.

The train is coming. And this guy is just wanting to figure out what the hell is going on ever since the collision before. But lacking a mind, he cannot be sure of anything that is going on. He says "i think i might know" because he cannot be certain.

This song is about an episode of a fictitious man's life, who may or may not be hallucinating. Does it mean anything special hidden between the lines to you? Share your meaning with community, make it interesting and valuable.
