Why is sharingan overpowered

In Itachi 's case, those abilities were Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Sasuke, on the other hand, had access to Amaterasu and Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi. Cast by Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki before him, the Infinite Tsukuyomi is a genjutsu of the highest order that allows the user to put the entire populace of the planet under an illusion, making them live in a world of dreams while turning their bodies into White Zetsu overtime.

The Rinnegan is the only known power known to be able to resist this powerful genjutsu. Not even something as strong as the Mangekyo Sharingan stand a chance against it. Probably the strongest known ability of the Sharingan is the Susanoo. This power can only be used by people who have awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan in both their eyes. It grants them the power to create a massive humanoid of chakra that attacks and defends on their behalf.

In the complete body form, the Susanoo is powerful enough to sever mountain ranges with a causal sword slash, as seen in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Thanks to the Rinnegan, the Gedo Statue, which is also known as the husk of the Ten-tails, can be summoned. Using this ability, the Ten-tails can eventually be revived and be controlled as well. Rei Penber is an avid fan of anime and manga. If the user has a vivid enough imagination, or the victim's mind is too weak, the victim is an easy target for a flying shuriken and on the road towards a quick death.

The converse is also true, and a strong mind will overcome a weak imagination. In the end, it all comes down to the details of the illusion. A well formed genjutsu can trick one into a feedback loop.

Theoretically, a genjutsu with perfect detail cannot be broken, because the mind accepts that it is real regardless of logic, and thus the victem cannot escape. And thus the Tsukuyomi is born. The Sharingan in all of it's forms allows the user to perceive more of the world - whether onto another plane or simply sharper is a debate for another time. This makes the Sharingan perfect for creating and breaking Genjutsu; the user is able to see and understand finer details, so it is easier to craft their own illusions and find the flaws in other's.

Because the Sharingan becomes more powerful with each tomoe, the user's ability in Genjustu also rises. It is my theory that, when the user activates the Mangekyo Sharingan, they ascend to a higher level of clarity, beyond regular human comprehension. Mangekyo users can see the things that make the world seem real, the finest details that convince our brains that what we see really does exist.

By seeing and understanding these details, those with the Mangekyo are able to create a world far more real than, say, Kurenai could, because they understand how the little things influince people, and can imagine accordingly.

This is also how Sasuke beat Itachi's Tsukuyomi; because Sasuke can see just as much as Itachi, he was able to convince himself that the world he was in didn't actually exist, and he was free. Really, in the end, it all comes down to how fine you can make your details, and details are the first and foremost purpose of the Sharingan. The uber-kill-your-ass powerful Genjutsu is just a happy side affect, and not some god-power. While a normal person may find the Tsukuyomi unbreakable, it isn't because it's the Mythical Genjutsu of Doom, it's just because Itachi and Sasuke and likely Madara are very imaginative.

So, there's my theory on Genjutsu and the Sharingan. Really, I always wondered why Genjutsu isn't very prevalent in the Narutoverse. Sure, I get that the main characters are supposed to be noble and stuff blech , but the villains and side characters are allowed to be sneaky, conniving, shadow-like, real ninja. Genjutsu is perfect for sneaking, conniving, and pretendting to be a shadow!

I mean, really Anyway, that's that. Feel free to rip it apart piece by piece, feel free to propose your own theory, and feel free to gripe to your heart's content.

Genjutsu is rarely used for several reasons; the first being that ninjutsu that blow stuff up are just plain cooler to look at in the manga, hence higher popularity. Granted, I've been speed reading a lot of the chapters recently so a lot of it seems to be coming out fast paced but sheesh.

The Mangekyo Sharingan was established to be the strongest but at the cost of blinding the user and only if you kill a friend so I can see how people wouldn't stumble into it. Apparently, the warping Jutsu is something only an Uchiha could use. EMS can only be gotten if you take a siblings eyes so okay, maybe people wouldn't use it that much. But when we got to Susanoo and Izanagi and Inazami, that's where I have to draw the line because apparently the Izanagi technique was so widespread that people had to create another technique to counter it!

What about Kamui! Honestly the Uchiha are getting so many different techniques that need so many prerequisites to unlock it that it's starting to become tiring.

Herpules tyeping is hrad. Naruto 1. The day they wrote that Madara was able to control the 9 tailed fox with his Sharingan was the day I did this Nighty the Mighty I swim in outer space. One day as he was walking home in the rain, Kishimoto was assaulted by a collection of angry teenage girls, who demanded that their precious Sasuke become stronger. Kishimoto resisted at first, however, the girls were prepared for this and had brought insurance. There was his precious dog Fido.

Kishimoto fell to his knees, what could he do in the face of such injustice. The lead girl tossed the dog at him and together the girls walked off into the mist. Kishimoto was left in the street, an unconscious dog at his feet, weeping.

From that day forth, the Sharingan became what it is now seen as today. He supports SasuNaru. Kiss SS: It's canon bitch. Kishi seems to be very fond of the sharingan. Anju Ratti Just a Friendly Guy :. Itachi Uchiha was one of the best Mangekyo Sharingan users, if not the best, in the series. He awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan after the death of Shusui Uchiha.

Over the years, he trained it to a degree where he unlocked the powers of the Tsukuyomi and the Amaterasu. Itachi Uchiha could also use the Susanoo to quite a decent extent and his Avatar wielded the power of the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror, making him invincible. Shisui was one of the very few Uchihas to be spared from the Curse of Hatred.

Being thrown into war at quite a young age, Shisui Uchiha awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan before the age of 10, which is a massive feat. His eyes granted the ability of Kotoamatsukami to him and using this power, he could cast a powerful genjutsu capable of manipulating others without them even realizing it.

While the ability itself was powerful, Shisui failed to ever demonstrate its proper use. Furthermore, he lost this eye to Danzo, proving once again that he wasn't as strong as some of the others. Indra Otsutsuki was the elder son of Hagoromo and he inherited the visual prowess of his father.

At some point, he awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan and trained it to a degree where he came to be known as the strongest. Indra's Mangekyo Sharingan abilities were unknown, however, he was capable of using a Fullbody Susanoo with just the Mangekyo Sharingan. Kakashi gained the Mangekyo Sharingan at the same time as Obito, upon witnessing the death of Rin Nohara.

Years later, he gained access to the power of Kamui and mastered it. Although a strong fighter, Kakashi not being a true Uchiha meant that he couldn't use the eye properly. Just using it a few times often rendered him unable to move for days. His eyes granted him the power of Amaterasu and Flame Control.
